Send big files

What do you do when the file you want to send doesn’t fit into your email?   Some email services like Gmail and Yahoo have a 10-MB limit, and, as we know, that is not much at all.  Some of the options people have used in the past required complex FTPs (file transfer protocols), setups, and incompatible settings on Macs and PCs to send big files.

Zipping or compressing a file used to really help.  It used to be that Excel files could be compressed by up to 98%.  This method worked for a long time.  Now, though, there are some very big files that will not fit no matter what you do. When you take photographs these files are already compressed, so the size really doesn’t change.  Cameras are now all 10 megapixels or above.  This creates really high quality photos, but just try fitting ten of those photos into an email.  The same thing happens when you try to send a home movie. It’s just impossible to fit into an email, or is it?

Actually there is a clever and simple way to send big files through the Internet that is both fast and free.  What you want is a site that allows you to upload big files through a Web browser.  Then you simply need to grab the link and paste it into your email.  It’s that easy!  Now you just need to find the best online file-sending software on the market.
